Claudia Carolina
Artistic Director/Flamenco Dancer
Claudia Carolina has devoted her life to dance. She is one of Canadas great flamenco treasures, a powerful dancer and the nations most esteemed Flamenco choreographer.
Her early studies include ballet and related subjects at the National Ballet School and music at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. After university studies in music composition, she lived in Spain for many years. Ms. Carolina has toured and worked in Spain, Europe, the Middle East, U.S.A. and Canada. She choreographed and performed in Misa Flamenca, the first Flamenco Mass to be realized in Canada which debuted in 1999 to sold-out audiences.
Ms. Carolina travels throughout Canada performing, choreographing and teaching.

Peter Mole
Flamenco Guitarist
Peter has been performing as a professional Flamenco guitarist for 10 years, dividing his time between touring across Canada on the folk festival circuit and performing weekly at the Kino Cafe in his hometown in Vancouver.
Originally from Montreal he studied classical guitar at McGill University. Funded by Canada Council grants, Peter returns every few years to Spain to study with such renowned guitarists as Carlos Heredia of Sevilla and Jesus Alvarez of Jerez de la Frontera.
Peter is in demand as a Flamenco guitar instructor as well as dance accompanyist for master classes and workshops. He performed in the NFB documentary Opre Roma with his group Los Canasteros. He has also performed on national CBC radio and television, most recently appearing on Z-TV with the group Rosa Flamenca.

Claire Marchand
Flamenco Dancer & Vocalist
Claire Marchand is one of Canada's most vibrant Flamenco artists. Following early studies in Southern Spanish dance styles with Carmen Cano de Infante, Claire went on to study with Flamenco choreographers from across Canada, including Claudia Carolina. Since 1997, Claire has journeyed to Spain yearly to study with maestros such as El Guito, Manolete, La Cintia, Blanca del Rey, Belen Maya, the singer Talegon de Cordoba and others.
C0mmitted to bringing a high level of the artform into Canadian awareness, Claire Marchand works as a dancer and producer with artists from across North America. Recent successes include the creation of Flamenco Vivo (2002) and Encuentro with Spanish Classical Dancer Maritel Centurion (2003). She works as a dancer, collaborator and producer with Theatre Flamenco with artistic director Claudia Carolina. Her involvement with this organization has resulted in several works including Misa Flamenca, Canada's first Flamenco mass, (1999 & 2001), and Mariposa - The Butterfly's Evil Spell (2002). This will be the first Flamenco work to take the stage at the Canada Dance Festival in June 2004. Movie credits include the part of Flamenco dancer and singer in Guy Maddin's The Saddest Music in the World (2004).
Claire Marchand is founder and director of the Spanish Dance and Flamenco Academy of Manitoba, the only studio in the nation that brings together instructors of Spanish Regional, Classical and Flamenco dance and music. She has taught Flamenco dance in the studios of Madrid and Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Claire holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Manitoba.

Randy Joynt
Modern Dancer
A former member of Contemporary Dancers, Le Groupe de la Place Royale and O Vertigo Danse, Randy has worked with numerous independent choreographers and has performed extensively throughout Canada, the U.S.A., Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He founded TRIP dance company with partner Karen Kuzak in 1997. In addition to performing, Randy teaches technique class and manages the business affairs of TRIP.

Maritel Centurion
Danza Española
Maritel's style explores the range of Danza Española. She has trained with renowned teachers Luisa Pericet, Jose Granero. She studied in Argentina, Canada, Spain, at the Colon Theatres Instituto Superior de Arte (Buenos Aires), at the National Ballet School and at York University Fine Arts Cultural Studies. Recently she co-created and performed Encuentro and A classical Spanish Dance & Music Concert, which was recorded by CBC s Culture Shock radio. Assisted by a Manitoba Arts Council grant she is currently working on the production of "Puertos", a dance project juxtaposing Flamenco and Argentinean tango. In addition to her performing engagements Maritel is a dance educator at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School..

Sheila studied Andalusian Regional Dance with Carmen Cano de Infante and flamenco with Claudia Carolina. She has been playing cajón and palmas for 2 years.
